- the fig leaf came about because the woman felt they could not enter the square with the statue being exposed, they were not used to it adn thought to be a dangerous sexual symbol.
- bent arm broke off so a friend pinned it back together
- Ice, Wind, Sun, a leaky gutter and during a restoration period the statue was scrubbed with a wire brush which took away some of the details.
