Time to crack on!

After taking a very long break from doing fyp work, I am back in action. I had been spending quite a bit of time on my group project trying to get the majority of assets done so I could concentrate more on this project.

The to do list: (8 weeks)

  • Finish modelling the building
  • Model statue
  • Texture the building
  • Texture the statue
  • Texture the grounds
  • Create a sky
  • Animate camera
  • Render Tests
  • Soundtrack
  • Final Renders
  • Final Edits
Then a week to finish the report.

I do know that having the cartoon and animation element to this project will give it the X factor but at this time I do not see that part being complete by hand in. It is very unfortunate as I was looking forward to that aspect of my piece. However, if I do not have time to finish the 'if i have time' bit then I will continue to work on this project after hand in so that I can complete that part. Doing so will create a stronger piece for my portfolio and show reel.

Links to brushes in brushking

These are some brushes I think will help when it comes to texturing. As the models have weather damage from nature (rain, sun, moss, birds and bugs) I need to take all of that into consideration so I feel these brushes will help bring those elements across. I will be using them in Photoshop, trying out different colours and then transferring them onto the models themselves to test out.

The next move is get onto modeling the statue, I feel this will take me the longest as I am a bit of a perfectionist and critical with my own work.

Let the fun begin!
